Rock Beach is the long sandy shore of the village on the Camel Estuary, opposite Padstow (Visit Cornwall — Rock Beach). It is estuary sand, not a Defra designated bathing water under the name Rock or Rock Beach (GOV.UK list of current bathing waters). The named designated bathing water on this bank is Daymer Bay, reference 33200, classified Excellent for 2025. The Environment Agency bathing-water record for Rock (eubwid notation ukk3104-33100) gives year designated 1988 and year de-designated 2016. Environment Agency — Rock ukk3104-33100 Cornwall Council’s dogs-on-beaches table (PSPO, page dated 17 March 2026) does not name Rock Beach or Daymer Bay. Absence from that table is not a named permission; privately owned beaches may have their own local restrictions. Polzeath Beach, a different village, is listed: dogs prohibited 15 May to 30 September, 10am to 6pm. Cornwall Council — Dogs on beaches The RNLI lifeguarded-beaches directory names Polzeath Beach; it does not name Rock Beach or Daymer Bay. No official RNLI beach-lifeguard cover for Rock Beach was sourced on 3 September 2026. RNLI finder Padstow Harbour Commissioners place Rock Quarry car park at the main ferry landing. They do not publish a walking distance in metres from that car park to the sand.
